Tuesday June 20th, Toronto, ON - Presented by iLive Radio, the inaugural iLive Soulfest 2017 is the first indie soul festival of its kind in Toronto, taking place during the long Labour Day weekend at Revival Bar. The festival will lay foundation for soul aficionados to support and enjoy their favourite independant artists on a large stage, as well as take part in various workshops outside of the concert series. Hosted by *StokeS and The Legendary *Master T, it will be an interactive weekend celebrating the resurgence of soul music in Toronto. It’s time Toronto’s soul music scene had something to celebrate and be awakened by. Over the years, we have seen the soul arm of the city lose its luster. While concerts have been a few and far between, we now have a meticulously curated weekend festival showcasing the brightest in indie soul. Each night will highlight a headlining, supportive and opening act that will take to the stage and leave their mark on the city. With a mix of local, American and UK artists, iLive Soulfest is bound to be a gathering for many music lovers across the board. Starting on Friday September 1st, revered UK artists *Carl McIntosh and *Loose Ends will be returning to headline with their laudable and authentic sound, supported by California’s funky diva *Sulpacio Jones. Opening the soiree will be Toronto’s own rising stars Cory and Taylor Wong, better known as the electronic/R&B duo *HMLT.

iLive Soulfest :: Soul Music Returns To 6ix :: Labour Day Weekend 💫

Hot off of the recent release of his 8th studio album Love In Beats, Saturday night marks the return of British soul-singer and the “Father of British Neo-soul Music”, Omar Lye-Fook. On the supportive end and adding his first solo tour stop in Toronto will be The Foreign Exchange’s own *Zo! Featuring *Carmen Rodgers. The soiree’s opening act will be none other than Toronto R&B songbird *Shi Wisdom. iLive Soulfest Curator, Jason Henry aka DJ Sessions, speaks about the importance of this festival stating, “Toronto hosts a wealth of soulful talent in its many forms and facets. Soul music is often an afterthought or an add-on to major festivals in the city. Soulfest aims to change the status quo by bringing legendary acts, international independent artists and superlative Canadian talent together to perform and expound the clear message that soul music is very much alive.” The iLive Soulfest will be the first indie soul music festival of its kind in Toronto, and bringing incredible musical acts to the city for music enthusiasts to revel in, is exactly what iLive Soulfest sets out to do. Refute the claim “there’s no quality music to listen to” and prepare yourself for the artistry and delivery of Toronto’s first - iLive Soulfest.
