'Scandal' Ending After Season 7 - BET Breaks

The hit show on ABC known as "Scandal" is having its swan song in season 7. In the video above BET breaks the news about what is going to be happening to Shonda Rimes hit show.

Multiple sources tell TVLine.com that creator Shonda Rhimes has decided to bring the story of Kerry’s political fixer Olivia Pope and her associates, known as “gladiators”, to its climax. The official announcement is expected to be made next Tuesday at ABC’s Upfront presentations in New York City.

“Whoa, @GMA,” the writer posted on Twitter last July. “I never said this was the final season of #Scandal. Way to make me spit out my coffee!”

Meanwhile, Kerry recently insisted she has no say on when the hit series will end.

“It’s not really up to me,” she told the April edition of Glamour magazine. “It’s up to Shonda and to the network. Shonda has said from the beginning that she kind of knows how it ends. So, I’m trusting her to guide the arc.”

However, the actress insisted portraying such a powerful character has been a highlight of her career so far.

“It’s impossible to say that Olivia Pope hasn’t been one of the most transformative roles for me,” she shared. “I’ve never played a character for this long.”

Scandal, which also stars Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, and Darby Stanchfield, first premiered in 2012 and the cast and crew recently celebrated filming the 100th episode.
