Jay Z 1st Rapper Inducted Into Songwriter's Hall Of Fame

Jay Z has added another accolade to his long list of achievements by being the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Today (February 22), Jay was announced among the 2017 class of songwriters heading into the Hall of Fame which includes Motown legend Barry Gordy, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and members of the rock group, Chicago.
It took a little a little longer for organizers to recognize Jay-Z, according to Chic’s guitarist Nile Rodgers, who made the announcements this morning on CBS.
“It’s massive. He has changed the way that we listen to music. He’s changed the way that we have fun,” Nile Rodgers said of Jay Z, who has racked up 21 Grammys over the course of his career.
