The music world lost one of the greatest voices it ever heard when Whitney Houston died tragically due to her personal issues that we won't get into here. What we will get into is how she is an untouchable force even to this day with the way she sang music.
One of her untouchable performances occurred at the SuperBowl in the early 90's during the turmoil of the Gulf War. She belted out American pride performing the Star Spangled Banner. Listen for yourselves in the video below.

"If you were there you could feel the intensity," is how Houston recalled the historic moment. "...we needed hope, you know, to bring our babies home [from the war] and that's what it was about for me, that's what I felt when I sang that song, and the overwhelming love coming out of the stands was incredible."
"I Will Always Love You," which spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart and anchored The Bodyguard's smash-hit soundtrack, the winner of the Album of the Year Grammy in 1994. Houston also did an incredible feat when she won 11 American Music Awards on the same night.
In today's world of the Beyonces and Rihannas there can't be any dispute that the kind of voice Whitney Houston had would have stood out even today. Mariah Carey is still here and these two were even having a fun rivalry back then as the two most unique voices maybe in history.
Of course, this is not to say legendary voices such as Aretha Franklin aren't around today.
The Queen of Soul herself even admired the talents of Whitney Houston where she pays tribute to the star in the video above. It shows the range of fans and artists who give Houston critical acclaim for having that "VOICE". She speaks about her rise to fame in an interview below with MSNBC.
