J Soul Lights Up Toronto Urban Arts Show (Review)

J Soul performs live in Toronto. The newly signed Cash Money Records artist was the headliner for "Culture Shock" which was at Urban Arts Toronto. UrbanArts is a non-profit charitable organization committed to the goal of building inclusive, engaged communities by enriching peoples’ lives through the arts, culture and heritage, with programs, services and resources delivered in York South-Weston and beyond. VISION: Enhancing neighbourhoods by engaging in community development through the arts, beginning with a focus on youth.

J Soul gave an entertaining and also emotional performance for Urban Arts which was like his safe haven when he had no place to live. At the show he admitted he was at the Center sometimes before the employees early in the morning waiting to enter the premises.

The crowd included kids which he gave an inspiration speech to as he feels dreams do come true. In his situation it certainly does as he admits it was a blessing to get signed by Birdman for his Cash Money Records Imprint.

The event also had the legend who helped start hip hop in Toronto in Michie Mee. She let the new generation of hip hop fans know that she still represents for them. The audience who know of her weren't disappointed in her performance, while the uninitiated were impressed by the skills of the veteran. The night was an amazing one which saw generations cross paths, but at the same time united in having a historic night in Toronto hip hop.

Another Toronto hip hop stalwart was in attendance. Toronto rapper and producer Rich Kidd performed masters of ceremony duties over the event and kept to his passion of production by helping orchestrate the "Battle Of The Beatmakers".

J Soul met up with WWETV Youtube Space Toronto representative Kevin Douglas. What was their conversation about? Who knows? Maybe we will see J Soul in the Youtube Space Toronto studios with WWETV for an exclusive down the line.
