Mimran Schur Pictures is currently trying to make a picture without infringing on the copyright of the WWE for the wrestler who killed his family and then himself. Yes, there is a production underway for Chris Benoit. There is no working title for the film yet.
From our sources this is not a bio-pic about Chris Benoit, but will look at the events that led to the tragedy of the man who was beloved by hardcore wrestling fans. It will contain flashbacks of his frend Eddie Geurrero who passed away just before Benoit did.
There is a cast already who will play Chris Benoit, Nancy (his wife), Daniel (his son), Eddie Guerrero (his friend), and Chavo (friend and nephew of Eddie Guerrero. The WWE is making it hard for any actual wrestling to be in it due to trademarks and copyrights.
It is understandable that the WWE is being very careful of their intellectual property being used in an independent film about one of its most infamous stars in history. The WWE wants nothing to do with this and no mention of their product is their goal and we may never see this movie if WWE has their way.
HHH who is the son in law of Vince Mcmahon (The Head of WWE) will be portrayed in the movie, but no actor has been named to play him.
The Canadian born Chris Benoit will be played by Joel Edgerton who was born on June 23, 1974 in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. He is most famously known for playing Uncle Owen Lars in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002). Since then, he has also starred in Ned Kelly (2003), King Arthur (2004), Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Kinky Boots (2005).

Lynn Collins will portray his wife who was known as Woman aka Nancy when she was a manager in the now defunct WCW wrestling league which WWE now owns.

Chavo Guerrero auditioned to play himself, but lost out on the gig to Michael Pena.

Eddie Guerrero portrayal will be by actor Miles Teller. Eddie Guerrero is one of the most beloved Latin pro wrestlers in history, but had an early death as many stars from the 80's and 90's who put their bodies on the line for the entertainment of the fans.

For his performance in the film "The Spectacular Now "(2013), Miles Teller won the Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The actor that will be the WWE Head Honcho Vince Mcmahon has not been named yet. This movie is planned for a 2019 release by Lionsgate.
