Kurt Angle spoke with TMZ Sports about what WWE superstars today could compete with actual wrestlers in NCAA or the Olympics. He pretty much gave them no credibility by stating they would get crushed. However, did he forget about Brock Lesnar who went on to become a UFC Champion after leaving WWE?
The two former NCAA athletes tussled backstage once and Angle claims he beat out "The Beast".
"The match was tight," admits Angle. "There's no doubt about it. There was only one takedown. I took Brock down, and that was it. That's when I put the fingers up, said two, and it's over. But we went a good 12 to 15 minutes. It was a good battle; Brock did outweigh me by about 70 pounds at the time. He was a big boy, but I knew that. It was a tight match. Did I beat him? Yeah, I edged him."
The Olympic gold medalist also praised Lesnar for being a fantastic athlete, saying, "He could have done anything he wanted" when it came to sports.
Ross also said when word got back to Vince McMahon, he was very upset with the former broadcaster, and Ross said he was chewed apart for it. Angle apologized to Ross in a friendly way, and said he was egging Lesnar on, since it got on Angle's nerves that Lesnar told coworkers weeks before that Angle was too small for him.
Either way WWE have some of the most durable athletes on the planet with their grueling schedule which has seen some of the athletes having to retire early or even receive an early death (due to the reliance of pain pills or abuse of steroids).
