“Since history, it’s been depression and misery, racism, greed, deception and bigotry. They make you choose. You a prisoner or a soldier, but once you fall victim to the system, then you over.”
-Rakim
The rap game has seen many transformations over the years, but one thing remains constant and that is the lyrical precision of the legendary Rakim. He lends his penmanship to Stephen Marley for the song "Unjust" along with Toronto's Kardinal Offishall.
“‘So Unjust’ is speaking about [the world being] unjust, so you have to be careful of who you trust and who you put your trust in,” Marley said. “See things through, rather than bargaining for the fish that are still in the water. Wait till they catch a fish and then bargain,” he added.
