Beyonce caught the eye of everyone when she dropped "Lemonade" suddenly on her fans and music lovers. She also caught the eye of Matthew Fulks, who states he is an independent filmmaker as well as the creative director at WDRB. Fulks says he conceptualizes, writes and directs TV advertisements for the Louisville, Ky.-based news station.
This creative mindset of his may be the brainchild behind some of Beyonce's "Lemonade short film. In fact, he is claiming that a member of Beyonce's team has acknowleged seeing his work.

"The number of aesthetic decisions included in Plaintiff’s PALINOIA Work that are parroted in Defendants’ LEMONADE Trailer demonstrates that the LEMONADE Trailer is substantially similar to the PALINOIA Work," states the complaint. "The misappropriated content includes both the particular elements that the Plaintiff chose to comprise the PALINOIA Work and the coordination and arrangement of those particular elements."

There is a thin line of inspiration and exploitation. or straight up stealing. What scenario do we have here with Queen Bee? If Matt Fulks is indeed telling the truth it would be good for him if he did get some acknowledgement of the work because many people gave critical praise for the Lemonade short film. If not and Faulks is just trying to pull a fast one on a musical icon shame on him, but the truth is somewhere in the middle for things like this. Stay tuned.
