Let the good times roll! Steve Harvey Good Times transformed the set of his Steve Harvey show into the living room of the iconic show Good Times and brought in castmates Ralph Carter, Bern Nadette Stanis, and Jimmy Walker for a mini-reunion. The actors discussed the impact of the show with Harvey. “I think that because it was a black thing, it reminded me of the old Ed Sullivan thing,” said Walker. “When there was black people on Ed Sullivan, black people went, ‘We gotta get home, there’s gonna be black people on TV!’” Good Times Reunion aired on CBS from 1974 to 1979 and was a spinoff of the show Maude, which itself was a Good Times Cast Reunion spinoff of All in the Family. All three were the creations of prolific writer and producer Norman Lear. Good Times also featured the writing and acting of two young comics by the names of Jay Leno and David Letterman. But what made Good Times so good was its ability to accurately portray a strong family dynamic.

“Where Are They Now?” Week continues with the set transforming to look just like the fictional living room of one of Steve’s favorite sitcoms from the ‘70s, GOOD TIMES! The breakout series debuted in 1974 and was one of the first to feature an African American family facing serious poverty.
