Reema Major made a lot of noise when she appeared on the BET Awards' Cypher in 2011 representing for the ladies and for her city of Toronto. It seemed the teenager was destined to be the next star after Drake to blow, but nothing materialized. She signed a joint-record label venture with G7 Records / Universal Music Canada / Cherrytree Records / Interscope Records and also signed to Waka Flocka Flame's Brick Squad Monopoly label.

Toronto is a diverse city with people of many backgrounds and that has led to a hip hop scene that reflects that reality. Reema Major was born in Khartoum, Sudan, to a South Sudanese mother and an Emirati origin father [2] Her mother moved to Kenya and later to Uganda before settling in 1998 in Canada through the United Nations refugee programme.

A deal was established with the co-sign of Jimmy Iovine—chairman of Interscope Records, Randy Lennox, President and CEO of Universal Music Canada, and A&R's Martin Kierszenbaum and Andrea Ruffalo of Cherry Tree/Interscope Records, and Mark Spicoluk of Universal Music Canada. This was the first time Universal Music Group signed a direct deal with a Canadian urban music label in 2010. So whatever happened to the promising young lady? Maybe that's a story to be told at another time, but we do know Reema Major is expected to drop some new music this year. In the video below you hear a little teaser for Reema Major's latest single "In This Life".

As fans of Reema Major wait in anticipation for the new music from the Toronto rapper, she gives her first interview with Wacka Flocka's mother Debra Antney. In 2012, Wacka Flocka Flame made the announcement that he had signed the artist.

The young rapper has also performed with Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Big Boi of Outkast. Rick Ross has also appeared in one of her music videos called "I'm The One".
