The Hollywood Reporter has made public the testimonies of Pharrel Williams during the lawsuit set by Marvin Gaye's estate over the song "Blurred Lines".
Their 2013 smash hit “Blurred Lines” was too similar to the late legend’s work which resulted in the 5 million dollar lawsuit. However, insiders are also stating that the testimony of each man has also played a major role as well.
"I did not go in the studio with the intention of making anything feel like, or to sound like, Marvin Gaye," Williams said during the deposition. The attorney further questioned the singer, "When you were creating 'Blurred Lines,' were you trying to pretend that you were Marvin Gaye?" Williams replied: "At that particular time, no. But as I look back, I feel that feeling."
