From Tisha Campbell's official youtube channel a personal message about the song/video:
I was very lucky to be able to work with an award-winning fashion movie director @viktorija_pashuta understood the importance of the lyrical content of the song, "Steel Here." Viktorija asked me to come up with one event that may have seemed trying while i was experiencing it but i turned into a positive. I shared with her how fortunate I was to recently receive a five page apology letter from the person who raped me when I was three years old. When the letter arrived, it blessed me.
It allowed me to FORGIVE and I'm so incredibly grateful. So with that, Viktorija begins the story with a man writing the letter, then you see him writing the words on my body...Words taken from the actual letter. She illustrated the theme of #forgiveness in the mirrored room where I have to really look at myself and fight my own demons. She also used beauty and fashion along with famed choreographer @tophatro dancers who emerge from the 9ft coutour gown which represents releasing negative emotions (grudge, anger, self-deprivation, etc) Thank you Viktorija and Rosero you both are a beautiful storytellers

The 46-year-old mother of two and wife to actor Duane Martin, revealed that she received an apology letter from the man who raped her when she was just three-years-old, something that would effect her into her 40’s and in her life as both a mom and wife. Tisha sings on the track:
I’m still resilient. I’m always gonna be here Because I’m supposed to be here. I’m only my existence- It’s a system of survival. Because I’m my only revival. Yes I’m on a misson (put your seat belt on) I know I’m on assignment, the stars are in alignment. I’m ready for this! Black butterfly, Got my paintbrush, got my canvas and I’ll paint the sky! I’m-I’m-I’m- still/steel here!
In the music video Tisha Campbell gives the visual of the letter written to her:
“Dear Beloved Tisha, this apology has been in my heart and on my mind for decades. For decades there has been a grieving pain within me coupled with an unending shame for my past behavior…”
