(VIA NYDN) Damning video shows the fatal confrontation between police officers and three unarmed men in the Los Angeles suburbs, an incident the city of Gardena had fought to keep from public view. A federal judge ordered the police dash cam videos released Tuesday after the Southern California city paid $4.7 million to settle a lawsuit with the family of the dead man and another man wounded in the shooting.

Ricardo Diaz-Zeferino, who was stopped by police investigating a bicycle theft early the morning of June 2, 2013, was shot dead after he didn’t obey police commands to put his hands up, the newly released video shows. “The videos show the cold-blooded shooting of clearly unarmed men,” R. Samuel Paz, an attorney for some of the men, told The Los Angeles Times.
